I grew up in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada and began playing horn in my school music program at the age of twelve. I was quickly fascinated by the instrument. In May 2015, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Performance. I had an amazing education at UBC studying under horn professors Richard Mingus and Benjamin Kinsman and directors Robert Taylor and Jonathan Girard.
As a horn player, I was a member University of British Columbia Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble throughout my degree. I have also performed with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, the Vancouver Brass Project and the Vancouver Oratorio Society. I am passionate about music education and have volunteered with the Greater Vancouver Youth Music Association and the St. James Music Academy. I also worked for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as part of their VSO Connects educational outreach program. This past summer I was a member of the National Academy Orchestra of Canada with the Brott Music Festival.
Currently I am pursuing my Masters Degree in Horn Performance at Indiana University. I am so fortunate to be studying under Jeff Nelsen. I am so thankful to be at such an amazing (and huge!) school with so many incredible musicians!
